What the check shows
-
What the system reads
The plain text an applicant tracking system pulls from your file: your sections, each role with its dates, your contact line, and the parts it may skip, such as tables, text boxes and page headers.
-
The 7-second view
What a recruiter takes in first: your name, your current title and role, its dates, the first words of your top lines and any number they can see without scrolling.
-
Skills from live ads
The skills that 20% or more of the matching ads ask for, and which of them your CV names. We show this only when 15 or more live ads match your job title.
There is no official ATS score
Each tool makes up its own numbers, such as 72%. We show what the system can and can't read, and what the ads ask for.
How this check works
We read your file with the same rules our app uses to import a CV, then read the extracted text a second time. What survives that round trip is what most systems can work with.
We look inside the file for tables, text boxes, page headers, two-column layouts and pages without selectable text, because many systems skip them.
The skills come from the requirements of live ads we track. We never show a skills list built from fewer than 15 ads.
